Bird of Paradise
The bird of paradise plant tends to do well as an indoor house plant. Just be sure to give them lots of sunlight - at least 4-5 full hours daily. Bird of paradise plants typically need to be watered around twice a week with a spritz on the leaves with a spray bottle for humidity in between waterings. When cared for properly, these plants will brighten your home with beautiful and very unique colorful blooms.
The monstera plant has a very recognisable leaf in tropical decor. These plants (also known as the swiss cheese plant) have very distinct cutout patterns in their leaves. Give them plenty of indirect but bright sunlight and water when the soil is dry. Monsteras also like to have a spritz with a spray bottle to mimic the humidity of their native environment.
Chinese Fan Palm
Also known as the fountain palm, these are perfect tropical plants to add to your home. The fan shape of their leaves is beautiful and is seen in many palm inspired decorations. They do well indoors with indirect sunlight. Water them when the soil dries out and spritz with a spray bottle from time to time. Give them plenty of space, these palms can grow to be up to 5-6 ft tall!
The parlor palm is the perfect palm and makes a great house plant. These plants can handle low light rooms and cooler temperatures but do best in sunlight. Give them water when the top of the soil has dried out. Parlor palms like a bit of humidity so give them a spritz with a spray bottle from time to time.
Zanzibar gems, also called ZZ plants make the perfect indoor tropical house plants. They do well in a variety of conditions, including low light. This makes them perfect for an office space. The beautiful waxy leaves are so crisp they almost look fake! Water them once the soil has dried out and don’t stress it if you forget to water them ontime - ZZ plants are very durable.
Whether or not you choose to add one of these plants to your home, you can definitely appreciate the natural feel plants bring to your space! If you are worried that you will be too busy to care for a live plant but you still want to enjoy the beauty and tropical ambience of these plants, you could always try the artificial versions!
