Plants are a fantastic way to liven up any space but sometimes they can be very difficult to manage along with everything else we need to do. Artificial plants to the rescue! Not only do they require zero maintenance they look great too. If you need some ideas on how to use artificial plants to decorate your home or office, here are some fun ideas to try out. Shop for an already put together piece. One of the easiest ways to add faux plants to your decor is to just straight up buy them all ready to go, planter and all! You can shop online at places like AtHome, Wayfair, World Market or Amazon. Pre-owned is a great way to go too, try sites like Ebay, you might find something that perfectly fits your style. Sometimes the best things in life are found in-person instead of online! Thrift stores, flea markets and local shops can be a fun place to look for already composed pieces for your home. If you are feeling more of a creative itch or you can’t find the perfect faux plant piece pre-made, it can be really fun to make your own. Many types of containers can be made into a vase or planter. Baskets, buckets and bowls can be unique planters for your decoration. I made a white dachshund cracker dish into a faux succulent planter for my kitchen counter. (See the tutorial here!)

You can purchase artificial stems of flowers, leaves and other greenery at craft stores like Michaels, Joann and Hobby Lobby. I have found some beautiful faux succulents, faux moss and artificial orchids on websites like Etsy and Ebay. If you want something that feels more natural, dried flowers or things like eucalyptus can be a good choice too.

Inspiration can be found almost anywhere if you look for it. Pinterest is one of the best places to get ideas for faux plant decorating. I also like to look at what’s new and trending on popular home decor websites. Browsing at a craft store, thrift shop or department store or even the floral section at the grocery store can be inspiring too, you never know! Artificial plants are a great choice for any home or office and whether you purchase a cool piece pre-made or you get creative and DIY one your space is sure to look amazing!
